The 8th Summer Camp Sombor took place from 19. July - 29. July 2010 !
International Youth Summercamp for Cultural Exchange, Respect and Tolerance
During 10 days the camp of the Red Cross Sombor in Bački Monoštor turns into a sedulous “Kreativwerkstatt” for young people from former Yugoslavia, Hungary, Switzerland and Germany (other countries are welcome!) where the “International Summercamp Sombor” provide an opportunity for cultural exchange. A multifarious choice of workshops is giving 80 participants a chance for experiences in fine and performing arts. By this way of common creations the participants are establishing a basis for communication and are resolving constraints.
The first evening, the Red Cross Sombor and the coordinators open up the camp where the workshopleaders give the participants an idea of the topics of their workshops. Afterwards the participants choose three favourite workshops whereof they will be assigned to two (each one during 4 days). Between these two blocks of morning workshops the whole camp will go to a trip outside the camp. At the end of each block, the participants and leaders present a performance of their common work.
Beside the morning workshops the surrounding of the camp gives a lot of possibilities for sports like football, swimming, volleyball and table tennis.
There is also a daily choice of afternoon workshops which are obligatory to participate in but they can be combined optionally.
The participants are invited to bring in their own ideas to increase the diversity of the afternoon workshops and influence with their individual capacities the creation of the evening programs. We want to make it a camp from everyone for everyone: from young people – for young people!
